ABOUT US
Bevan Healthcare is a Social Enterprise. We are committed to helping people get the health care that they need. At Bevan Healthcare we provide responsive NHS General Practice services designed to meet the needs of people who are homeless or in unstable accommodation; those who have come to Bradford and Leeds as refugees or to seek asylum.
Founded in 2003 as a new Primary Care Centre for homeless people, asylum seekers and refugees in Bradford, we became a Community Interest Company in 2011. In 2013, we developed our Outreach Services, a tripartite approach to engaging homeless people in primary care. In 2016 we opened Bevan House Wellbeing Centre, a ‘Help through Crisis’ Big Lottery Funded Initiative. Last year, we became the service provider at York Street Health Practice in Leeds, another inclusion health primary care service working with the same patient populations.

‘We ought to take pride in the fact that, despite our financial and economic anxieties, we are able to do the most civilised thing in the world – put the welfare of the sick in front of every other consideration.’ Aneurin Bevan, 1948

SUPERB! I'm so grateful for the high quality service! Drs nurses admin and all! First rate! I've tried to find a fault, cannot! SO SAD TO HAVE HAD TO LEAVE! I will never forget them.

I have been *listened to* and consulted on my own care by the doctor for the first time in years, instead of being patronised and dismissed (as at previous surgeries).

It was my only place of hope at a time when I had none

I have found friends in the Centre when I had no one to turn to.

When I came to Bevan Wellbeing Centre they treated me as family, everyone was really welcoming, friendly, helpful and supportive. Bevan is like my home and my family.
